The individual is the ultimate creator. Each day we wake up and create our realities. Through actions and thoughts and words. We shape the world around us. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. This is the ultimate battle between nature vs nurture. Nature, The Universe. Nurture, Our free will.
A Spiritual Life is a Worthy Life
Every path is laid with good intentions, and sometimes those paths lead us into pits of cow shit. I think I reached a point in my life where I was in so much emotional and psychological pain that I had no other choice but to stop and look within. This is what happens with most people.
Life hits them hard and there is no one else to turn to, except yourself. You realize you are alone, and you feel the weight of that aloneness. Alienation isn't even a strong enough word to the heaviness of being unsupported and rejected. You are forced to become your own best friend. You are also forced to become a father, a mother, a lover, and a friend to the broken pieces inside yourself.
Spiritual awakening is simply the task of trying to make sense of a senseless world.
Trying to understand yourself, but also the people around you. A siren call to stop searching outside of yourself for answers.
Taking my life and my healing by the reins and doing the work was liberating.
A choice stemming from the desire to stop filling a void with superficial items and relationships. Stop giving my precious energy away to people who were completely empty and disconnected from their own sense of selves. People in pain who were content with being in pain. Acknowledging pain that no one else could see or feel. Acknowledging pain that a lot of people inflicted on me at an age where I was too defenseless to do anything about it. Realizing I’m not helpless and that self-love is the ultimate healer.
Lessons I learned that had to be communicated through rejection and misunderstandings ultimately showed me the truth of the world. People bank on your insecurities and self-hatred. You, settling for less. Your inability to take responsibility for your own shortcomings.
There is a power in us all to empower ourselves and the people around you.
